Rachel Bilson Looks Casual With an Alexander Wang Bag

Rachel Bilson Alexander Wang Rockie Bag

Here’s actress Rachel Bilson, running errands in Los Angeles, carrying a natural leather Alexander Wang Rockie Bag, which is the little sister of the original Rocco. You can find a Rockie in beige lambskin for $825 at Barneys. (And just in case you’re worried, the Rocco has by no means been retired. There are still plenty of Roccos up for grabs at Barneys and elsewhere.)

If you’re wondering if Rachel is dressing for two, the answer is YES. Rachel is expecting a wee babe with her fiancé, actor Hayden Christensen. This will be the first celebrity tot for both. Rachel is also busy filming season four of her hit CW show Hart of Dixie. If you’d like to tour the rest of Rachel’s designer handbag collection (Amanda describes it as “absolutely sick”), you can do so in “The Many Bags of Rachel Bilson.”

Prada’s Fall 2014 Runway Bags Have Arrived in Stores

Prada Lux Calf Medium Flap Satchel Bag Yellow

In spite of the fact that I’m generally willing to give Miuccia Prada the benefit of the doubt on almost anything (those ill-advised, open-toe Miu Miu cowboy boots from a couple of seasons ago are a notable exception), I wasn’t really feeling most of Prada’s Fall 2014 runway bags. Most of them were decked with huge, ungainly chains and little else, and many of you were similarly unsure whether they’d translate well to retail. Good news: they have!

Pre-orders for Prada’s fall runway bags are now up at Bergdorf Goodman (as well as for a whole load of non-runway options), and the results are mostly quite good. There are far fewer chains, and the bags that have had them eliminated entirely fare the best, especially the elegant top handles. If you still want a chain in your life, there are some smaller, mostly metallic options that meet your needs, but they’re not the highlight here. Check out a selection of the bags below and shop the full selection via Bergdorf Goodman.

20 Burgundy Bags to Start Your Fall Wardrobe

Other Brands

Balenciaga Le Dix Cartable Bag

Burgundy may be the perfect fall color; it’s rich, versatile and basically a neutral, but it’s not quite as obvious a choice as an actual neutral. Black, grey, tan, navy–burgundy looks flawless with all of them, and depending on the undertones of the particular shade, it can read as anything from a particularly warm brown to just a shade off aubergine. All of that, of course, makes it a perfect choice for a new handbag.

Burgundy (or, as everyone suddenly decided to call it, oxblood) had a huge fall last year, and based on the deliveries currently rolling into stores, the industry’s appreciation for the color hasn’t abated. If you’re all stocked up on traditional neutrals and want something a little bit more interesting in your wardrobe that will still be appropriate for frequent use, we’ve got 20 options below, in a variety of shapes and price ranges.

The Many Bags of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

The Many Bags of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

I want you to think back, all the way back to when Real Housewives first appeared. It was just the Orange County wives back then, and the show was intended to be a behind-the-scenes look at the privileged lives of a group of women who lived in the exclusive Coto de Caza gated community. Now the show is more about drama than wealth, but the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills somehow manages to bring both in almost equal measure. (Depending on which cast member you’re talking about, the scale may tip one way or the other.)

Lisa Vanderpump, Kyle Richards, Camille Grammer, Kim Richards, Taylor Armstrong, Adrienne Maloof and Brandi Glanville are the richest group of Housewives that Bravo has in its stable (although it appears that Lisa in particular, and perhaps Camille’s divorce settlement, may be helping out the average), and they make it known every episode in the jaw-dropping handbags that they carry. Now that the group has returned to television (and we’ve returned torecapping their antics), we’ve taken the liberty of looking through the group’s paparazzi shots and distilling them down into the definitive guide to The Many Bags of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

The Many (Many) Bags of Kim Kardashian

The Many Bags of Kim Kardashian

We’ve been waiting a long time to do this one, and finally, The Many Bags of Kim Kardashian has arrived. The controversial reality star’s bag collection is easily the biggest one we’ve ever dug through, and you might be a little bit surprised by what we found: a lot of fairly conservative choices among the seventy-plus bags we found, many of them used repeatedly over the span of years.

“Kim Kardashian” has practically become a synonym for the excessive vacuousness of fame, but when you get down to it, Kim seems to both really enjoy her handbag collection and choose its contents wisely and with considerable care. She also seems to buy a lot of her bags herself, instead of receiving endless freebies and carrying whatever brands will send her. Hermes very famously does not give freebies or discounts to celebs, and Kim has most certainly spent plenty of her wealth on the acquisition of little (and big) orange boxes. Time and again, I found bags she’s used in the past couple of months popping up in paparazzi pictures from 2009 and 2010, which is a much more judicious use of her handbag backlog than many of us can claim. I’ve never been a Kardashian hater (or a Kardashian lover; I am mostly ambivalent), but after spending a few hours putting these photos together, I wouldn’t mind having a cocktail with Kim. Or looking through her closet, at the very least.
