Hermes 2015 Spring Summer Ad Campaign

Hermes launches the Spring Summer 2015 Ad Campaign, the theme is Flâneur Forever.

A few quick note.

The term Flâneur comes from the French masculine noun un Flâneur, which has the basic meanings of ‘stroller’, ‘lounger’, ‘saunterer’ or ‘loafter’. Charles Baudelaire developed a derived meaning of Flâneur – that of ‘a person who walks the city in order to experience’.

And that’s the exact experience you will get out of this ad campaign. Models wearing beautiful jewelries on the streets, in classy outfits and gorgeous shoes. Hermes also introduced new color of the Halzan Bag.

Hermes Cabag Twist Bag

It either work for you or it doesn’t. The Hermes Cabag Bag is made for one purpose – to help you get through the weekends. Why is it actually the ideal weekend bag? Because of its generous size of course.

Store whatever you need; your laptop, sleepover clothes, cosmetics and other essentials. Travel from Saturday to Sunday with the Hermes Cabag Bag. What I love the most is its simplicity; it’s available in single colors and comes with an easy carry, either the double handles or the long handle to wear on the shoulder.

Crafted with side pockets and it features aluminum rods with Clou de Selle ends for lightness. You can adjust the width simply by using the press-studs on the sides. Made from strong calfskin, measuring 16.5’ x 15’ x 7.5’ inches, priced at $1,825 USD at Hermes boutique.

The Hermes story is one wrapped in antiquated harness, literally. The luxury label that launched in 1837 has clearly come a long way from its harness-making days and is set to further spread its French wings in its American flight. The US is about to witness three grand entrances by the French fashion brand, the first of which is a renovated Beverly Hills boutique awaiting a September opening. The decadent Rodeo Drive destination cost the brand a cool $75 million just in property purchases last year. As a result of an 18-month renovation, Hermes’ address on Rodeo Drive is a distinctive white marble façade with an avant-garde, ice cube tray edifice. Like all the luxury label’s boutiques, the latest outpost has been designed by Paris-based RDAI (Rena Dumas Architecture Interieure). ‘Futuristic’ doesn’t end there though.

The flagship is rumored to feature inexplicable interiors that include a white marble spiral staircase in the atrium leading to “a roofless roof” made possible by a “membrane air cushion, which sits invisibly over the circular opening,” according to press materials. Such peculiar handiwork is being pitched against the Parisian Saint-Germain-des-Pres flagship that boasts of several interesting facets besides its Art Deco appeal.

The brand is also investing large sums in Miami and Atlanta so luxe-loving Americans can empty their wallets with utmost ease. The Atlanta boutique will be a billion-dollar mixed-use development bowing at the Buckhead Atlanta by late 2013. In Miami, on the other hand, Hermes intends to go gritty and enter the Design District where they set up (temporary) shop earlier this year while a three-story, 12,000-square-foot mammoth magnificence is in the works. It will be the company’s third flagship outside of New York and Los Angeles. San Francisco, stay tuned!

Along with Birkin bag Hermes scarf has become one of the most recognized label’s creations. Each scarf is hand-printed and hand-stitched. Besides, it has a secret that you might not have known – scarves are made with a scent!

Hermes scarf

Originally made of silk Hermes scarf measures 90 cm × 90 cm and weighs 65 grams. To manufacture one piece 250 mulberry moth cocoons are necessary. When the fabric is ready it is hand-printed by Hermes professionals who have to apply up to forty three silk screens to achieve the effect. One screen is for one color of the scarf.

Motifs for scarves have ranged from the germane (such as the French Revolution or French Cuisine) to the unexpected (such as the flora and fauna of Texas). However, the most common prints for Hermes scarf are the equestrian and military motifs.

Every year only two collections of scarves are released, and some older versions of the legendary scarf are made. Year by year the sale of Hermes scarf is increasing and on holidays like Christmas scarves literally fly off shelves, selling a piece every 20 seconds despite the fact the average price for the item is 300 euros.

Today Hermes manufactures cashmere/silk blend scarves for colder seasons. Both types of scarves are popular with customers.

Hermes scarf

Hermes has released a book about their scarves entitled The Hermès Scarf: History and Mystique. The book tells the history of Hermes scarf and reveals the technology of its production. Besides, the reader can find information about multiple ways of wearing the scarf.

The number of fans of Hermes scarf includes lots of celebrities who value the piece for its quality and the status it gives to the wearer. Queen Elisabeth II, Audrey Hepburn, Kylie Minogue, Oprah Winfrey, Sarah Jessica Parker, Hillary Clinton, Mariah Carey, and Madonna – all were spotted wearing Hermes scarves.
